About this work

King Herod interrogates Christ, but he does not answer him. Herod and his soldiers mock Christ and dress him in a splendid robe. In the margin a seven-line inscription in Latin referring to the scene. The scene is framed in an ornamental border with prophets holding scrolls on either side.
