About this work

In the center, the winged Father Time accompanied by a rooster. In the foreground, two peacocks and, to the right, a rich company at table, eating and making music. Part of the company falls into the flames of hell. To the left, a man on his deathbed. Death approaches him, and Father Time flies above the bed with his attribute, the rooster. In the background, the five wise and the five foolish virgins, and an angel with legs like pillars. In the margin, an inscription in Latin. Print from a series of four with moralizing allegories on time.
