About this work

A depiction of a frame with a painting of the centurion of Capernaum who begs Christ for help. The painting is drawn in outline using a graphometer. In Capernaum, a Roman centurion kneels, surrounded by his soldiers, before Christ. He asks him to heal his servant. He has taken off his helmet for Christ, a squire holds it for him. Christ sends the centurion home and simultaneously heals his servant. Top right, marked: Planche X. This print is part of the book: A.G. Eckhardt, Description of a General Graphometer, 1778.
