About this work
The priests of Baal shout and dance around their altar, call upon the god Baal, and pray for fire for the burnt offering. King Ahab stands by the altar. In the background on the right, Elijah prays to his God at his burnt offering, which is ignited by fire from heaven. In the background on the left, the prophets of Baal are put to death after this event. Below the image, a reference in Latin to the biblical text in 1 Kings 18. The print is part of an album.
