About this work

An unpacked wooden box with a pattern of white chrysanthemums. In front of the box several playing cards with the image of a famous Japanese poet and part of his or her poem. The cards are part of a poetry game based on the "Hyakunin isshu" (100 poems by 100 poets) and kept in the wooden box. The three poems in the top left corner each refer to one of the three depicted cards.
