About this work
In the foreground some shepherds with their cattle: to the left a sleeping shepherd; behind him, under a shelter, a shepherdess pointing upwards. A shepherd boy kneels and folds his hands. In the sky an angel with a scroll bearing the text: Glory to God in the Highest. Below the scene three two-line verses in Dutch.
