About this work

Two sets of four emblems with Dutch text and Latin motto on one sheet. Top: Emblems with the personification of hope, a man with an raised hand, a man and woman in conversation, and Fortuna with a scepter, crown, and jewels. Bottom: Emblems with Amor struck by an arrow, a skull with scepter and scythe, a winged hourglass, and a skull.
