About this work
Solomon sits as a young king on his throne, seen from the front. Before the throne lies a dead child on the ground. To the left, a soldier is about to cut the living child in half. To the right, the two mothers. Diagonally behind the throne, a bearded man points to one of them. Title in two languages below the image. The scene is framed by an ornamental border with flowers and cherubs.
