About this work
The tormented Christ, with a crown of thorns on his head and a 'scepter' in his hand, stands on a dais before a triumphal arch and is shown to the people. A soldier holds up his cloak. Pilate stands next to him and makes a questioning gesture. Behind him, several men. (John 19:4-6)
