Satire on the laziness of the Landsknecht. In the foreground right, 'Hauptman Lentz' sits on a chair. On the left, a man is being pushed towards him in a wheelbarrow by 'der Sommer'. This loafer wants to work for him. Under a canopy, an administrator sits at a table with an open book before him. On the left, 'Fendrich Hans Unfleisch' lies asleep on the ground. Title in cartouche: 'Der Lentz nimbt Knecht an'. Other explanatory texts on banners in the scene. Translated title: We fools follow laziness and sleepiness.
