About this work
Monument for the artist Louis de Silvestre. His name is on the upright tombstone, above which a palette with brushes and his portrait with a laurel wreath. On a balustrade next to the stone stand on the left a woman with a cross and on the right an angel with a horn of plenty. In the middle below lies Death as a skeleton before the grave above a coffin.
