About this work

Album with 52 prints on 50 album leaves in a calf leather binding of oblong format. The album contains various print series with the subject 'nature' in the broadest sense. It includes two series on the four seasons, a series on the five senses, a series of gods and goddesses by printmaker Crispijn van de Passe (I), the series Bestiarium quadrupedum Vivae Icones on land animals, the series Avium Vivae Icones on birds, the series Piscium Vivae Icones on fish, and finally a series of flowers. The album was possibly compiled in Antwerp. Three blank leaves at the front, six at the back. On the endpapers, presumably glue residues from photo corners. On one of the leaves at the back, a horse is drawn.
