About this work
Illustration for a tableau vivant made on commission of Prince Fabrizzio Colonna, ambassador to Naples, in honor of Pope Clement XII, for the fireworks at the Chinea ceremony in Rome, 1738. In the center in the foreground Neptune in his triumphal chariot. On the right, on a hill, the nine Muses; on the left Vulcan in his forge. In the middle above, divine providence sitting on a plateau pulled by four lions.
