About this work

In a forest landscape in the foreground a knight on horseback. Next to his horse walks a devil-like figure holding a rod of justice. In front of the knight Death on horseback, holding an hourglass and scepter, on his head a crown with a snake. On the ground a salamander, a dog and (left) a snake near a skull. Behind Death in the forest a broken tree.
