About this work
Father Time as a winged old man with a scythe in his left hand, a skull in his right hand. He rides in his chariot on which the 12 months are indicated on the wheels and with a motto in German and the artist's initials at the front. The chariot, drawn by two stags, drives over attributes referring to ecclesiastical and secular power, to arts, science, money and war. Upper left figures in the clouds going to heaven. Lower right figures in hell. The angel from the apocalypse blows the trumpet. With three columns of text in German.
