About this work

The goddess Diana as Luna (the moon), riding on the clouds in her triumphal chariot drawn by nymphs with arrows and bows. Center top: constellation Cancer. Bottom: a coastal landscape with the harbors of Venice, Istanbul, and the Netherlands. Many boats are sailing on the sea. Trade is conducted in the cities. Below the image, a Latin panegyric on the influence of the moon on the coastal regions of the Netherlands and the Mediterranean. This print is part of an album.
