About this work
Hector is surrounded by figures wishing to bid him farewell on the eve of his departure. In the foreground, his wife Andromache is kneeling. On the right stands Hector's son with King Priam and his wife Hecuba; on the left, several other figures. Far to the left, Andromache and the son are depicted a second time, mourning the death of Hector. Below the image is a line of Latin text, numbered on the right: 4. The print is part of a series of prints about the Trojan War.
