Four men of different ages, smoking and drinking, sit around a table with playing cards. One man lights his pipe with a candle. To the left stand an older woman holding a candle and a female servant with a wine jug. Night scene with chiaroscuro. Below the image a four-line Latin verse and a four-line Dutch verse.
