About this work
Man, seen from the back, dressed in a frock coat with pockets, breeches, stockings and shoes with buckles. On his head a bicorne or tricorne; the tail (of the hair or wig) in a hair bag with a bow. On the left side a short sabre or houwer. No. 8 from a series of 24 costume prints titled 'Suite des Nouvelles Modes Françaises depuis 1778 jusqu'à ce jour, dessiné d'après nature par C.L. Desrais'. Without legend.
