About this work

Standing woman in a muslin dress and petticoat trimmed with striped blonde (bobbin lace). Tulle mantelet (small shoulder cape) with embroidered dots and a large plain blonde fichu. On her hairstyle a cap called 'Bastienne', topped with a hat with feathers. Further accessories: earrings, long gloves, fan, heeled slippers with bows. Print from the series vv. 39e Cahier (bis) des Costumes Français, 35e Suite d'Habillemens à la mode en 1784, Gallerie des Modes et Costumes Français.
