Costume for a ball. Asymmetrical tunic with short sleeves, lapel and point with tassel. Skirt with train, trimmed with a binding in a contrasting color and geometric pattern. The updo hair is decorated with a hairband or hairnet. Flat shoes with pointed toes. The print is part of the fashion magazine Journal des Dames et des Modes, published by Pierre de la Mésangère, Paris, 1797-1839.
