About this work
Three fighting men. Ichikawa Morinosuke II, in a blue kimono, in the role of Shirai Gonpachi, is attacked by two men. The man in the yellow kimono with a stick raised above his head is played by Ichikawa Morijûrô. The third actor (on the ground) is unknown. The scene is from the play 'Shirai Gonpachi Yoshiwara gayoi', performed at the Ônishi Theater in the first month of 1839.
