About this work

Woman to the right, dressed in a gown with a lapel: 'Robe en Maillot' or 'Robe croisé'. On her head a hat 'Chapeau à la Suzette'. Further accessories: knotted neckerchief, 'palatine', purse, flat shoes with pointed toes. The print is part of a series of 142 fashion prints, of which 115 have been identified, published by J. Chéreau, Paris, 1799-1810.
