About this work

From left to right. Two enameled medallions for a belt. Young man, walking to the right, dressed in a black-green habit lined with red wool on blue wool breeches. Ruffled jabot and cuffs. Striped stockings. Accessories: walking stick, hat with button and loop, shoes with round buckles. Woman, climbing a staircase, dressed in a linen japon with spotted pattern on a yellow bodice and skirt. Yellow pleated collar. Accessories: 'chapeau relevé à l'Espagnole' (hat) decorated with flowers and spotted ribbon, earrings, long gloves, chatelaines, shoes. The print is part of the 17th Cahier, 3rd year, from the series Magasin des Modes Nouvelles Françaises et Anglaises. The series consists of 172 fashion prints, published by Buisson, Paris, 20 November 1786 – 21 December 1789.
