About this work
Young couple dressed according to the fashion around 1860. The woman wears a Japanese-style dress with short puffed sleeves and a pointed bodice, decorated with flowers. Hairnet with voile and flowers. Behind her stands a man with sideburns in a cloak or cape. They stand in a garden by a balustrade and garden vase; a parrot sits on a branch.
