About this work

Woman walking in the wind, with parasol or umbrella in hand. She wears a grey walking jacket with a V-neck, long puffed sleeves, and a wide skirt decorated with ruffles. On her head, a pink canopy hat with ribbon bows. Around her shoulders, a long striped scarf with fringes at the ends. The illustration was used in the magazine 'L'Artiste' (Paris, 1831-...?), titled: 'Toilette de Campagne', September 1840: Physionomie des modes.
