About this work

Walking couple, dressed according to the fashion of 1796. The woman wears a pink jacket with long sleeves and a small train. On her head a cap. Around her neck a fichu. Tied waist. The man is dressed in a blue frock coat over yellow breeches. On his head a tall hat with a standing brim on the side. Around his neck a cravat. Further accessories: walking stick with cord around the wrist, flat shoes with pointed toes. The print is probably part of the almanac Modes Révolutionaires, 1796.
