About this work
Standing woman, seen from the back, with a velvet hat on her head, decorated with an ostrich feather and 'gances d'argent'. Around her shoulders a scarf decorated with an embroidered meander motif. She wears a dress, which she holds up with her right hand. Stockings with contrasting heels. Flat shoes with pointed toes. The print is part of the fashion magazine Journal des Dames et des Modes, published by Sellèque, Paris, 1797-1839.
