Woman wearing a 'capote' of quilted organdie on her head. She wears a tunic(?), trimmed with gathered strips of fabric, over a gown with long sleeves. Flat shoes with pointed toes. Open book in her hands. The print is part of the fashion magazine Journal des Dames et des Modes, published by Pierre de la Mésangère, Paris, 1797-1839.
