About this work

Dancing man dressed in a frock coat with revers, waistcoat and shirt with 'jabot de point' (lace) on a knee-breeches of cashmere ('casimir'). Cravat and stockings. Accessories: gloves, brooch, flat shoes with pointed toes and square buckles. The print is part of the fashion magazine Journal des Dames et des Modes, published by Pierre de la Mésangère, Paris, 1797-1839.
