About this work

Man, walking to the left, dressed in a 'Costume Demi Habillé'. He wears a frock coat with two rows of buttons over a waistcoat and knee breeches. Shirt with a pleated jabot. Cravat and stockings. Accessories: tall hat with a bow at the front, gloves, walking stick, flat shoes with square toes and bows. The print is part of the fashion magazine Journal des Dames et des Modes, published by Pierre de la Mésangère, Paris, 1797–1839.
