About this work

Woman, walking to the left, dressed in a satin wedding japon covered with lace. Short puffed sleeves. 'Coeffure de Mariée', decorated with a half-moon of orange blossom, a sprig of tuberose and a 'voile d'Angleterre'. The 'coeffure' was designed and executed by Mr Plaisir. Accessories: necklace, long gloves, belt (?), handkerchief, shoe with bow. The print is part of the fashion magazine Journal des Dames et des Modes, published by Pierre de la Mésangère, Paris, 1797-1839.
