About this work
Woman dressed in a velvet redingote trimmed with velvet brandebourgs, small 'rouleaux', 'roses' (rosettes) and satin buttons, by Bouhot. On her head a satin hat trimmed with ostrich feathers. Further accessories: bracelets on both wrists, handkerchief, shoes. Figure in the same redingote, seen from the back. The print is part of the fashion magazine Journal des Dames et des Modes, published by Pierre de la Mésangère, Paris, 1797-1839.
