About this work

Woman with a cap of Blonde (bobbin lace), by Beauvais. She wears a redingote of organdie, trimmed with a 'rouleaux froncés', from the studio of Lucie. Further accessories: earring in the right ear, belt with buckle, flat shoes with crossed straps and square toes (cothurnes). Girl dressed in a gown with 'tablier-sautoir' (apron), from the studio of Lucie. Undergarment and bloomers. Accessories: mittens, boots with square toes. The print is part of the fashion magazine Journal des Dames et des Modes, Paris, 1797-1839.
