Woman dressed in a 'robe en circassienne', from the shops of Petit St Thomas. 'Canezou' with sleeves from the shops of Fonbonne B. On her head a canopy hat by Vaulout. Writing quill in hand. She hands a letter to a woman dressed in a woolen muslin gown with a 'percale' apron. On her head a cap. The print is part of the fashion magazine Journal des Dames et des Modes, Paris, 1797-1839.
