About this work
Standing woman dressed in a gown with short sleeves, high waist, and a small train. The hem is decorated with a ruffled strip of fabric. Accessories: cap or turban decorated with ribbons and a flower, earring in the right ear, three necklaces with a medallion, long gloves, bracelet, fan. The right glove is loose in the hand. Print from the fashion magazine Journal des Luxus und der Moden, published by Friedrich Justin Bertuch and Georg Melchior Kraus, Weimar, 1786-1826.
