About this work
Woman dressed in a 'gros de Naples' bodice decorated with Blonde (bobbin lace) and silk embroidery, by Mm. Chevalier. On her head a 'capotte' of crêpe, decorated with veil, ribbon, and ostrich feathers. Further accessories: earring in the left ear, bracelets on both wrists, gloves, handkerchief, flat shoes. Papers in hand. To the right, a table, behind which sits a woman, seen from the back, dressed in the same bodice. Print from the fashion magazine *Petit Courrier des Dames* (1821-1868).
