About this work

A woman, seen from behind, in a light purple cloak(?) trimmed with ruffles and cords. A wide light purple skirt at the hem decorated with a black cross/dot pattern. On her head, a light purple hat (fanchon?) with ribbon bows. Opposite her stand two girls. On the left: a light grey dressing gown(?) trimmed with light pink ribbon with a scalloped hem. Light pink cord around the waist. Cap on her head. On the right: a white/black bolero on a matching skirt. According to the caption: foulards (for dresses) from 'Comptoir des Indes'. Print from the fashion magazine Cendrillon (1850-1872).
