About this work

A woman and two children in an interior; the woman is dressed in a faille gown with a black satin vest with white lace. The girl wears a blue silk gown with a pleated flounce on the skirt. Over it a 'polonaise' of grey cashmere. The boy wears a jacket with a skirt and three-quarter breeches of black velvet with a sash. Extensive description of the clothing on page 183 "DESCRIPTION DE LA GRAVURE DE MODES COLORIÉE". Print from the fashion magazine Journal des Dames et des Demoiselles (1841-1902).
