About this work

Woman in a walking costume of cashmere. Flared skirt and blouse decorated with berthe. On the chair lies a round hat decorated with lace, ribbons, velvet and roses. Tulle scarf. Another woman in a 'mantelet' or walking jacket in the 'Empire' style. In the foreground a large bow with buckle. On her head a straw hat decorated with velvet ribbon. Parasol of changeant silk. In the background two identical figures, seen from the back. Below the image several lines of advertising text for various products. Print from the fashion magazine La Saison (1867-1902).
