About this work

The accompanying text (p. 224) states: Fig. 1: Hat of gauze, decorated with marabou feathers and a double 'blonde'. Jacket of gros-de-Naples, of which the bodice consists of crosswise strips and bands. The lower edge of the jacket is garnished with ruffles. White gloves. Brown shoes. Fig. 2: Hairstyle à la Léontine. Jacket of linen with a pelerine, trimmed with hems and a narrow strip of tulle. Trousers of cotton batiste. Shoes and stockings of red cotton batiste. The print is part of the fashion magazine Journal des Dames et des Modes, published in Frankfurt as a copy of the French edition by Pierre de la Mésangère, Paris, 1797-1839.
