La Mode Illustrée, 1869, No. 13: Gowns of Mrs. Breant-Castel (...)
From the collection of Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam. Free to download, adapt and use — no permission needed.
Two women in 'toilettes' by Breant-Castel. Left: evening dress decorated with flowers. Accessories: earring, necklace, short gloves, bracelets, transparent scarf trimmed with fringe. Right: bodice with a hanging strip of fabric at the shoulders trimmed with lace (?), falling over a matching petticoat. Skirt with train and train, decorated with strips of lace (?) and three bows. The same image was printed by La Mode Illustrée with two different plates. This can be seen in the miniature necklace (?) and the bracelet. Here the manufacturer's name of 'Gervais' is missing and 'Anaïs Toudouze' is written in a different handwriting. Print from the fashion magazine La Mode Illustrée (1860-1937).
