About this work

Landscape with on the background a semi-circular ancient theatre ruin covered with plants and trees, closed by a building with a pyramidal roof. On the right extends the bay of Rhodes, with the sculpture the Colossus at the harbor entrance. On the middle ground a scene with fighting soldiers and a man taking a bull by the horns (possibly the rape of Europa or Hercules and the Cretan bull), watched by two women.
