About this work
While General Ôshima attacked Pyongyang from the front, Lieutenant-General Nozu sent his men from another side for a surprise attack. This caused panic among the Chinese, resulting in the loss of more than 2000 soldiers in this battle on August 8, 1894. A journalist from the newspaper is visible in the lower left.
