About this work
Japan's victory at the Battle of the Yellow Sea, also known as the naval battle near Dagushan, gave Japan control over the entire Yellow Sea area. The Japanese flagship was the Matsushima, along with twelve other warships. On September 17, 1894, the Japanese fleet won the naval battle after five hours of fighting; several Chinese ships were lost, but not a single Japanese ship was sunk.
