About this work
Four scenes on an album leaf depicting the life of David, numbered 25 to 28. At the top left, David is anointed king of Judah. At the top right, David has Abner buried. In the background, Abner is stabbed to death by Joab at a gate building. At the bottom left, Ish-bosheth is beheaded in his sleep by Rechab and Baanah. In the background, they show the head of Ish-bosheth to David. In the fourth scene, David is depicted as king of Israel. Each scene has a Latin inscription and four lines of Latin in the lower margin. The leaf is part of an album.
