Explanations for depictions of the nine Muses, used as images of extraordinary women: Terpsichore as Miriam, Euterpe as Deborah, Erato as Achsa, Clio as the wife of Thekoa, Polyhymnia as the wife of Abel Bethmaacha, Calliope as Esther, Melpomene as Hulda, Thalia as Judith, and Urania as the Ethiopian queen Candace. The text begins with a small decorated initial D. The leaf is part of an album.
