About this work

The angel Gabriel floats on a cloud bed and announces the birth of Christ to Mary, while she sits reading. In his hand he holds a lily as a symbol of Mary's purity. Gabriel is surrounded by several other angels, with the Holy Spirit in the form of a dove. With explanatory text in Latin in the lower margin and a reference to the biblical text in Luke 1. The print is part of an album.
