About this work
Christ is tested by disciples of the Pharisees and a number of Herodians, but he sees through their evil intent. They show Christ a denarius with the images and inscription of the emperor. To this Christ answers: 'Give therefore to the emperor the things that are the emperor's, and to God the things that are God's.' Letters are placed at various elements of the composition. The print is part of an album.
