About this work

Just before his death Jacob blesses the sons of his son Joseph, Ephraim and Manasseh. He does this with crossed hands and predicts a great future for Ephraim, the youngest son of Joseph. The subject is here used as an image of the deathbed of Tobit. This print forms part of an album.
